If You Need a Fan

Hello!

Two posts within two days! Crazy, right? Well, yesterday I said something that triggered a song idea and so I came up with it yesterday. It was actually more like a friend said something really sweet and so the verses are about that, but the chorus is an elaboration on what I replied.

It's called If You Need a Fan.

you Like to stand up and cheer
and always for me to hear
'cause everyOne needs someoNe
and thE way you follow what I say
and taLk to me every daY
I see you're my listener and friend
and I hope it'll never end
so

CHORUS:
if you need a fan
here I am
if you need a shoulder
you can come on over
if you want to fall, baby
just reach out and call me
and if you ever need a fan
you know where I am
I'll be here if you need it
even if you can't say it
if you ever need a fan

you like to say nice things
and aLways be encouraging
'cause everyOne needs someone
you know wheN I want to share
or when I nEed you to be fair
you've got your fingers on the puLse
and Your feelings are never false
but

CHORUS:
if you need a fan
here I am
if you need a shoulder
you can come on over
if you need to fall, baby
just reach out and call me
and if you ever need a fan
you know where I am
I'll be here if you need it
even if you can't say it
if you ever need a fan

BRIDGE:
you may smiLe but sOmetimes you're sad
I don't kNow what misfortunes you'vE had
but you've aLwaYs been there
just being the one who cares

(softly, slowly)
if you need a fan
here I am
if you need a shoulder
you can come on over

(more quickly and more loudly):
oh, if you need some kindness
I can help provide it
I'll be here if you need it
even when you can't say it
and if you ever need a fan
here I am
if you ever need a fan
here I am

I need to know if a. it is cliche and b. if it is lame! Thanks for all your time and comments.

Much love, and thank you for the musik,

NBK

Hey!

I actually do need a fan. The one in my room broke and this summer has been HOT! Bad joke, I know, but I couldn't resist =P.

Sorry about the lateness once again. You have no idea how much I look forward to your posts (I'm known to obsessively refresh your website on occasion. Not like that's creepy or anything...) and I love writing these comments. I guess I got too caught up in doing nothing. Speaking of doing nothing, I finished most of my summer work! =) Yay! So I will not, as you once said before, be burning the midnight oil as school approaches. I'm actually really excited for school, although I do feel that there will be something missing from my European History class. I haven't been able to place my finger on it quite yet (OK, maybe I have. =[ I'll miss you!).

I'm actually writing this outside, which is a first. It's a really beautiful day outside, and I feel like I need to saturate myself with summertime feelings before summer ends (this has included gorging myself on Calvin and Hobbes! I feel like Bill Watterson is really able to capture the true spirit of the seasons, especially summer). I feel obligated to write this little blurb as I keep looking at the really cool cloud patterns in the sky every thirty seconds. It's pretty distracting, but in a good way.

Speaking of summer ending and school starting... The only thing I have to do is read Jane Eyre. I think you told me one time that you read it in eighth grade, but I could just be mixing things up. Interestingly enough, I was at Barnes and Noble today to pick up my copy of Jane Eyre when I bumped into a totally awesome person. Can you guess who it was??

Can you?

Neil! My long lost bus driver! He and I go way, way back. Seriously. I still remember the first conversation I had with him. It was on the ride home after my first day of high school. What a monumental guy. All right, all right, so I met two incredibly amazing people at B&N today (three, actually, if you include the parent, which I'm sure you would =]). Now, can you guess who they were? (Apparently I'm filled with bad jokes today. Funnily enough, saying "today" implies that I'm filled with good jokes other days. I guess I have a penchant for self-flattery. But now I'm just rambling, and the clouds sure are pretty.)

I don't know why why non-song related comments are getting longer and longer. I think I may just be bored, but let me know if it bothers you! And now onto the song...

Wow. My jaw dropped when I first saw this post. I'm not kidding. I'll never forget it. I'll start off by answering the questions you posed in a completely unbiased way. Cliche? Absolutely not. It was about as cliche as John Marshall was stupid in his legendary Marbury v. Madison decision of 1803(that made about as much sense as the amount Rose taught everyday. So practically none. OUCH!) Lame? Um... Okay, if we (arbitrarily, of course) assign "lameness" to Rose's teaching ability, then your song can be described by Cuneo's teaching ability (once again, this makes very little sense. In my defense, however, I can't stop looking the clouds.). Continuing onward with my absolutely unbiased(=]) comment, I'll say that this is the greatest song ever written. Ever. It's perfect in every way. I still can't believe you wrote a song about that! I feel so honored (but "honored," in this case, would be an understatement)! There is so much I want to say right here, but I (once again) can't figure out the right words (cross-outs abound, believe me). Just...wow. (and I just got your Jane Eyre text). I guess I'm just going to say that I love this song. It's fantastic, and so I would like to thank YOU for this Musik! OH, and it's cool that you capitalized some of the letters in the words. I'm not really sure what they represent, but I saw them in the Taylor Swift boooklet.

p.s. I hope you and your mom enjoy the music and cooking books, if you ended up buying them. And I'm sorry for the completely nonsensical comparisons that I'm sure would make the SAT writers squirm.
